The Challenge of Fighting Hunger in Brazil! | Cantos do Sabiá
João Lucas França, broadcaster and communicator at Centro Sabiá.
Brazil is hungry! According to the latest data collected by the network PENSSAN – the Brazilian Research Network on Food and Nutrition Sovereignty and Security – In our country there are more than 19 million people going hungry, and 55% of the population living in food insecurity – that is, without regular access to food.
Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, the situation has only gotten worse. There is a lack of public policies and a more humane view of our country’s politicians, given the alarming situation in which more than half of the Brazilian population finds itself. We need to think about an agroecological future, we need to think about a food future for our country!
It is with this in mind that we invite Solô Paiva , a specialist in promoting surveillance in health, environment and work, to Cantos do Sabiá , our weekly podcast! She is a Sociologist, and specialist in Health, Environment and Work Surveillance Promotion.
