The 4th Municipal Conference on Food and Nutritional Security will be held at Unicap, on July 04 and 05, 2023, with the theme “Hunger, Voices, Rights, and Democracy: Necessary Dialogue for the implementation of Food and Nutritional Security – SAN” and with the slogan “People are meant to shine – not to die of hunger”, the proposal is to debate the urgent issue and deliberate on the priorities necessary for the execution of the public policy, aiming at the search for food sovereignty for the population of Recife.

After the pandemic period, it is necessary to hold such a conference in order to identify the current scenario of the municipality in promoting actions to eradicate hunger, as well as to enable the food and nutritional security of the population of Recife. New deliberations should also be appointed for the next biennium.

With an expected participation of 150 people already registered, representing civil society organizations, users of the SAN system, city departments, and agencies interested in the food security theme, the event will have two days of lectures, group discussions, and construction of deliberations that will serve as guidelines for the Recife Municipal Plan for Food Security and Nutrition, to be carried out by the Recife City Hall, through the municipal CAISAN.
