Special dossier on hunger and food insecurity available for download

Civil Society in the Fight Against Hunger is the name of the Special Current Dossier Hunger and Food Insecurity published by the Electronic Journal of Collective Scientific Dissemination, a journal published by the Joaquim Nabuco Foundation (Fundaj) since 2010. The document presents a discussion on the initiatives of non-governmental organizations and social movements in the fight against hunger in Brazil.

Carlos Magno and Maria Cristina Aureliano, from the collegiate coordination of Centro Sabiá, were interviewed by Marcela de Aquino and spoke about the impact of Sabiá’s work in the state of Pernambuco during the organization’s 30 years of existence.

The interview covered topics such as the right to food, agroecological fairs, urban gardens, income, access to land, living in the semi-arid region and the lack of public policies for access to land.

In addition, photographs from the Sabiá Center’s Image Bank also illustrate the dossier.
