On March 20, 21 and 22, we held the first Water Management for Food Production course [GAPA] in the community of Onça, in the municipality of São Caetano [PE], for two classes of 18 beneficiaries each. The training is part of the One Land, Two Waters Program [P1+2].

With this training, farming families acquire knowledge about water management, care of the vegetable garden, medicinal plants, the use of natural pesticides, soil fertilization and access to Solidarity Revolving Funds. The course also discusses proposals for coexistence with the semi-arid region and climate justice.

The city of São Caetano is receiving 61 social technologies for access to water for production, including 43 cisterns and 18 cisterns.

P1+2 is a program of the Brazilian Semi-Arid Articulation and aims to decentralize access to water, as well as to improve the quality of life of farming families in the semi-arid region.

Like other organizations working in the semi-arid region, Centro Sabiá is implementing P1+2 in the Agreste Setentrional region under Collaboration Agreement No. 944934/2023, signed with the Ministry of Development and Social Assistance, Family and Fight against Hunger (MDS). This execution is also accompanied by the Rural Development Program, which ensures that all selected families receive financial resources to invest in their productive backyards.

Nothing found.
