Peasant Struggle and the Hunger for Justice | Cantos do Sabiá
João Lucas França – Radio host and communicator for the Sabiá Center.
This week’s Cantos do Sabiá reflects on them and their struggle for the environment, food and the countryside! We’re talking about International Day of Peasant Struggle!
April 17 is indeed a date to pay tribute to those who live in the countryside, from the countryside and through the countryside. Congratulations peasant people, people of struggle! Our people. But it’s clear that in a country that was born out of so much violence against the countryside, native peoples, black people and those who produce, it can’t just be a celebration .
It’s a cry of urgency that needs to be heard by everyone – on and off the pitch. in a world where global warming is already a reality and a challenge for cities and the countryside, we can no longer just think about preserving nature, we have to remember the people who depend on the land to live .
It’s the day of the peasant struggle, it’s time to renew our commitment to the countryside, to the rural struggle that unites the country! Plácido Júnior , a geographer, talks to us about the subject ! He has a lot of experience with agrarian issues and the countryside. He is a member of the Pastoral Land Commission (CPT), Via Campesina!
Cantos do Sabiá is the Centro Sabiá’s Podcast! Weekly we discuss agroecology, sustainability and politics in the countryside and in the city! The podcast goes live every Monday, with the complete interview edition that originally made up the Center’s radio program. https: spoti.fi/31VtUj5
