Brazilian semi-arid region, school of the world | Cantos do Sabiá
João Lucas França – Broadcaster and communicator for the Sabiá Center.
Today we’re talking about the Brazilian semi-arid region, school of the world! For those born in the most extreme climates, living with drought, lack of water and heat is more than an adaptation: it’s a necessity.
That’s why, when we think of our caatinga, our catingueiro people and the Brazilian semi-arid region, we’re talking about people, nature and biomes adapted to the many climate changes that have taken place in recent years.
What for many people around the world is devastating news, for the people of the semi-arid region and our caatinga, it’s been learned for generations! That’s why, in order to face extreme climates, global warming and destruction, we need to look to those who already have experience. The Brazilian semi-arid region, school of the world!
Let’s talk about this confrontation and these lessons? Carlos Magno – Social Mobilization Coordinator at Centro Sabiá, Master in Agroecology and Sustainable Rural Development, Executive Director of ABONG and focal point of the Semi-Arid Platform in Latin America – talks to us about this once again.
Cantos do Sabiá is the Sabiá Center Podcast! Every week we discuss agroecology, sustainability and politics in the countryside and the city! The podcast goes live every Monday, with the complete interview edition that originally made up the Center’s radio program. https://spoti.fi/31VtUj5
