Productive backyards? | Real Food
João Lucas França – Broadcaster and communicator for the Sabiá Center.

Comida de Verdade is here to discuss productive backyards! Do you know what they are? The great struggle involved in planting is the struggle for space, for land. And that goes for the countryside, the city, the countryside and the hills. A little piece of land is worth a lot, and we know it.
That’s why we need to make the most of these spaces, which are often unused land, both in the countryside and in the city. And we can’t imagine how productive they can be!
É It is possible to have productive backyards to promote agroecology and sovereignty. There’s no better time to talk about this, because last Thursday, March 20, Centro Sabiá and CETRA launched the Quintais para Soberania project!
So, let’s do something cool and talk today about productive backyards and sovereignty! What’s it got to do with anything? Taking part in Comida de Verdade is Evanice Pereira – an agroecological farmer with experience in productive backyards and a member of the Gameleira Women’s Group (Sertão do Pajeú). Also taking part is Aniérica Almeida – who has a master’s degree in Rural Extension and Local Development and is the technical-pedagogical coordinator of the Sabiá Center.

Comida de Verdade is your Saturday program to talk about food and agroecology, valuing our markets and local culture.
