ENAU: Which cities plant? | Real Food

João Lucas França – Broadcaster and communicator for the Sabiá Center.

In the first week of August, the 2nd National Meeting on Urban Agriculture (ENAU) will take place in Recife, at the headquarters of Fiocruz Pernambuco.

ENAU is a space for exchange, for experiences with urban agriculture, for strengthening knowledge and resistance that insists on producing, reproducing and existing in the middle of urban centers. This is how urban agriculture happens.

The 2nd ENAU arrives in the state of Pernambuco with the theme: “Cities that plant.” That’s why this week’s Comida de Verdade asks: Which cities plant? And cities that plant what?

We’re going to talk about urban agriculture, peri-urban agriculture, agroecology – and the paths to social justice and collective construction in urban centers.

Two members of the National Urban Agriculture Collective are taking part in our panel: Simone Arimatéia and Juliana Moser. Juliana has a master’s degree, is a researcher in urban agriculture and is a member of the National Urban Agriculture Collective. Simone Arimatéia is an agroecologist and technical advisor on urban agriculture for the Sabiá Center.

Comida de Verdade is your Saturday program to talk about food and agroecology, valuing our markets and local culture. Every Saturday at 10 . 30am on Rádio Universitária 99.9 FM and rebroadcast on Rádio Universitária Paulo Freire 820 AM – Podcast format on Spotify from the Sabiá Center! https://spoti.fi/31VtUj5
