Water Conference 2023 – UN | Cantos do Sabiá
João Lucas França – Radio host and communicator for the Sabiá Center.
We have just come out of the month in which we celebrate the world water day – March 22; an important date for discussions of access to water, access to sanitation, to drinking water… But also against climate injustice, environmental racism, to discuss climate change, and of course actions for change.
This is why the UN, the United Nations Organization, decided to resume the discussion about water. At the end of March, it held the Conference on Water, a global conference to study and propose international goals and objectives, agreements and treaties – all for water!
The Water Conference is presenting the water agenda for action, with collective commitment from governments, institutions, and local communities – towards the sustainable development goals by the year 2030.
To talk about water today is to think about the future. To think about climate change – and also about urgent action, for so many people who don’t have water to take a shower, wash their hands, or even to drink – every day.
And it is to talk about this very important theme that today we invite Carlos Magno to our virtual table ! Carlos is a Master in agroecology and sustainable rural development. Coordinator of social mobilization for the Centro Sabiá and member of the Governance Panel of the Plataforma Semiáridos América Latina. He is the director of ABONG!
Cantos do Sabiá is the Centro Sabiá’s Podcast! Weekly we discuss agroecology, sustainability and politics in the countryside and in the city! The podcast goes live every Monday, with the complete interview edition that originally made up the Center’s radio program. https://spoti.fi/31VtUj5
