Animal husband ry – a long topic within the subjects of environment, agriculture, agribusiness… But also in agroecology! It is very true that on the part of agribusiness, the market for poison, the treatment of animals, livestock, and cattle, is for export, for money and profit.

But what is left behind is the devastation of the environment. In exchange for the profit of a few, agribusiness wastes the water of many. They are responsible for the largest expenditure of water on the planet. Agribusiness, in large-scale animal production, generates deforestation, soil impoverishment, water pollution, and large-scale natural consumption, in exchange for capital.

That is where the need for a culture, and animal husbandry, comes in. A creation that respects the limits of nature. That it respects the land, the soil, and the space. Animal husbandry in agro-ecology! And that’s why today we talked with Orlando Santana, poet, technical advisor of the Centro Sabiá , with experience in animal management in the sertão of Pajeú!
