Waters in the Mountains, Changing Lives | Cantos do Sabiá
João Lucas França – Radio host and communicator for the Sabiá Center.
This week, in Jataúba, at Sítio Sobrado, the closing seminar of the Águas da Serra Project took place. A very important project to restore springs through agroforestry, which has had a very beautiful impact locally, but which also reverberates through the area, in the restoration of real ecosystems! Saving springs and territories.
The Sabiá Center was in charge of the Águas da Serra Project, Agroforestry in the recovery of springs on the Capibaribe River. A project carried out with funds from FEMA, the State Environmental Fund. A project aimed at recovering springs, our water sources, in Jataúba, Pernambuco.
But when we take care of springs, we restore much more than just a waterhole; we restore waters, forests, microclimates, help restore ecosystems, reactivate access to water for populations, give nature back what is hers, and save lives.
Water is life.
That’s why today we’re going to talk about the Águas da Serra Project, Agroforestry in the recovery of springs on the River Capibaribe! We’re going to hear testimonies from farmers, women farmers, technical advisors and also the voice of the youth of Jataúba, who have lived and shared with the project!
Cantos do Sabiá is the Centro Sabiá’s Podcast! Weekly we discuss agroecology, sustainability and politics in the countryside and in the city! The podcast goes live every Monday, with the complete interview edition that originally made up the Center’s radio program. https://spoti.fi/31VtUj5
