Agroecology is Diversity! | Cantos do Sabiá

João Lucas França – Radio host and communicator for the Sabiá Center.

Cantos do Sabiá leads the discussion on agroecology to the direction of diversity! That’s why we talk about International LGBTQIA+ Pride Day, June 28, is part of a movement of LGBTQIAP+ Pride Month, a month to celebrate victories, to celebrate the conquest of spaces, of gender diversity. A date to discuss the issues of the struggle of the LGBTQIA+ community. Celebrate pride, identity, but do not forget that the struggle is permanent!

The LGBTQIA+ flag is also part of agroecology! That’s right. Agroecology needs to be more and more inclusive, diverse, political! As the phrase, one of the mottos of agroecology, goes, “Where there is homophobia, there is no agroecology!”

That is why today we are going to talk about it – LGBTphobia and agroecology. The fight for diversity! And it is to talk about this very important theme that we invited a researcher in the field! Today we talk with Gabriel Mattos Ornelas. Gabriel has a PhD in Education, a Master’s in Political Science, and a Bachelor’s in Public Management from UFMG. He is the author of the research “If there is LGBTphobia there is no agroecology: LGBTQIAP+ Youth Collectives and educational processes on affective, sexual and gender diversity.

Cantos do Sabiá is the Centro Sabiá’s Podcast! Weekly we discuss agroecology, sustainability and politics in the countryside and in the city! The podcast goes live every Monday, with the complete interview edition that originally made up the Center’s radio program. https://spoti.fi/31VtUj5
