Springs: Resilience in times of change | Cantos do Sabiá
João Lucas França – Radio host and communicator for the Sabiá Center.
This week’s Cantos do Sabiá talks about springs: resilience in times of climate change. Preserving springs is of the utmost importance, especially in the midst of climate change, which is accelerating and becoming more extreme every day. Springs are the points of origin of our water, and are vital in supplying fresh water to ecosystems, communities, small regions, and even cities!
With climate change causing droughts and floods, the preservation of springs has become essential: for well-being, for coexistence with climates, and so that no one runs out of water.
Springs are resilience – in a time of so much change. It’s for mitigating the impacts of climate change and promoting the resilience of natural and human systems! To talk about this very important topic, today we invited you to the program – Ita Porto! Ita is an agronomist and coordinator of the Diaconia in the Sertão do Pajeú region of Pernambuco. She has experience in Agroecology, based on the themes of Sovereignty and Food, Nutrition and Water Security. He is president of the Pajeú River Basin Committee (COBH Pajeú). 🎤
Cantos do Sabiá is the Centro Sabiá’s Podcast! Weekly we discuss agroecology, sustainability and politics in the countryside and in the city! The podcast goes live every Monday, with the complete interview edition that originally made up the Center’s radio program. https://spoti.fi/31VtUj5
