Comida de Verdade talks about agribusiness: do we depend on agribusiness to eat?

Every week, we are bombarded with information about agriculture, coming from all sides: politics, with the ruralist caucus; economic coverage, highlighting commodities (meat, soy, corn…); or advertising, which insists on saying that agriculture is top!

But we are mainly bombarded with poison, especially in cities, with the agro that reaches us through supermarkets, shopping and, finally, in our homes.

Comida de Verdade then asks: Do we depend on farming to eat? That’s what we’re talking about now with Jailma Santos – a professor at UFPE’s Department of Nutrition. She is a nutritionist and researcher at UFPE’s Health Sciences Center, working in popular health education and food and nutrition education.
