Is agroecology accessible? | Real Food

João Lucas França – Radio host and communicator for the Sabiá Center.

Today’s Real Food is about a recurring theme when we talk about real food, organic and agroecological food: Is agroecology accessible?

When we think of healthy, nutritious, natural food, many people immediately think of high prices, that you can only get this kind of food in a noble, upper-class neighborhood… But there is a lot of misinformation, and a lot of myth in between! And that’s where the difference between organic produce and agroecological food comes in, as well as the importance of where the food we eat comes from, and which markets we are strengthening when we visit an agroecological market – or a chain supermarket!

Is agroecology accessible? For whom? And how can we make this poison-free market even more accessible? Edgar Caliento is here to talk about all this with us today. He studied Forestry Engineering and has a degree in Agroecology Technology. Master in Biological Diversity and Conservation in the Tropics. He has experience in ATER Agroecology, reforestation projects and Agroforestry Systems.
