São João is agroecological! | Cantos do Sabiá
João Lucas França – Radio host and communicator for the Sabiá Center.
June has arrived, and with it, our June festivities, so important for culture, for sharing, for agroecology! Of course I’m talking about São João!
But the month of festivities isn’t just about arrasta-pé, forrozinho colado and corn… It’s that too! But it’s a festival of sharing, of traditional Northeastern food, of culture! A time of renewal for those who live in the countryside. Months of rain, harvest and plenty!
That’s why we’re talking today about agroecology and São João. We need to fight for the production of poison-free food, for spaces for the countryside to remain standing, alive, full of abundance! So let’s celebrate the corn festival, let’s fight for agroecology.
And it is to talk about this very important topic that we have invited Célia Sousa – popular educator and Master in Rural Extension – to our table today. I am currently coordinator of the Sustainable Pajeú Pact.
Cantos do Sabiá is the Centro Sabiá’s Podcast! Weekly we discuss agroecology, sustainability and politics in the countryside and in the city! The podcast goes live every Monday, with the complete interview edition that originally made up the Center’s radio program. https://spoti.fi/31VtUj5
