How are we eating? | Real Food

João Lucas França – Broadcaster and communicator for the Sabiá Center.

Have you ever stopped to think about how we are feeding ourselves? The population in cities is growing, while green and arable spaces are shrinking. More and more companies are arriving, destroying areas previously dedicated to planting and erasing part of our food culture.

⬆️ Before: roots, cassava, potatoes, mangoes, bananas.
⬇️ Today: frozen, ultra-processed, fatty, fake food.

We need to reflect on our production, consumption and eating practices. That’s why in Comida de Verdade we’re going to talk about agriculture in the city!

Joining us are Simone Arimatéia – agroecologist, technical advisor in urban agriculture for the Sabiá Center and teacher at the Marias School: Women and Urban Farming – and Maria Lúcia, a peri-urban agroecological farmer and member of the Horta do Quilombo.

Comida de Verdade is your Saturday program to talk about food and agroecology, valuing our markets and local culture. Every Saturday at 10 . 30am on Rádio Universitária 99.9 FM and rebroadcast on Rádio Universitária Paulo Freire 820 AM – Podcast format on Spotify from the Sabiá Center! https://spoti.fi/31VtUj5
