It is in this atmosphere of festivities and carnivals, but also thinking about an intensely political and electoral year, marked by debates on the environment, that we ask: who holds the banner of nature?

We are talking about a future of fighting for climate justice, anti-racism, listening to and strengthening community networks – and, why not, with agroecology at the center of this path.

Agroecology is much more than a way of growing crops. It’s a way of living, organizing and fighting politically. Agroecology is what we fight for.
But who will hold the banner of nature in 2026?

It’s about this struggle, about this banner, that we’re going to talk about here today. Carlos Magno, Social Mobilization Coordinator at Centro Sabiá, holds a Master’s degree in Agroecology and Sustainable Rural Development and is the focal point of the Semi-Arid Platform in Latin America.
