Jones Severino Agroforestry School | Cantos do Sabiá
João Lucas França – Radio host and communicator for the Sabiá Center.
Cantos do Sabiá, the Centro Sabiá podcast is on the air! And today we talk about the Jones Severino School of Agroforestry – an initiative in defense of agroforests and nature. The school bears the name of the agroforestry pioneer in Pernambuco – Jones Severino, a family farmer, who together with his partner, Lenir Ferreira, built this beautiful story of resistance and possibilities with Agroforests in Pernambuco.
The pioneering Sítio São João has produced a diversity of more than 100 different species of vegetables, fruits and grains! An agroforestry that was and is an example for all of Brazil and agroecology. It is thinking about this legacy that Jones Severino left us that today we talk about the School of Agroforestry. And to talk about this very important theme, is with us once again – Raimundo Bertino! He is a specialist in organic agriculture, and a master in rural extension. Raimundo is an educator at the Jones Severino agroforestry school.
Cantos do Sabiá is the Centro Sabiá’s Podcast! Weekly we discuss agroecology, sustainability and politics in the countryside and in the city! The podcast goes live every Monday, with the complete interview edition that originally made up the Center’s radio program. https://spoti.fi/31VtUj5
