Children receive gifts and joy on Children’s Day

On October 12, another celebration for Children’s Day took place in the community of Poço Grande. The women’s group, together with the community’s young people, went out handing out surprise bags to the children. More than 80 bags were delivered to three neighboring communities. This action has been going on for around six years and has been promoted by the united women’s group, together with the Commission of Young Agroecology Multipliers (CJMA), since the beginning, with the support of some councillors and trade unions.
This year was no different from other years, bringing joy to the children. Two young people dressed up as clowns and, together with two members of the group, went around handing out the bags and making the children happy. That way, they felt important. A simple action that generates affection.
We know how important it is and how much hope it brings to children. We come from years of pandemic, where we planted the seed of hope. With every glance from each child, with every gesture of affection, we are motivated each year to work and do our best to ensure that children do not lose their childhood and that they grow up with effective memories.
We know it’s difficult these days, but we know how much the children appreciate it and enjoy it. Because the main protagonist in this story is not us who do the deed, but each child who receives that little bag full of love and compassion.
We know how many obstacles, difficulties and discouragement there are, but we also know that each action renews us as humans. And we know that what we do is from the heart.
I want to thank everyone who helps us to provide this simple and generous action. And next year, may we once again be able to reciprocate this gesture of love for others.
Nothing found.
