Urban agriculture for whom? | Real Food
João Lucas França – Broadcaster and communicator for the Sabiá Center.

In the first week of August, we held the 2nd National Meeting of Urban Agriculture (ENAU) – an important moment to discuss agriculture that takes place in urban centers, in the middle of concrete, and to face the challenges that the city imposes on planting.
It was a formative and transformative experience, listening to the voices of women who plant, harvest and resist with agriculture and agroecology. At ENAU, we discovered that, proportionally, the state of Pernambuco has the most links with urban and peri-urban agriculture.
But beyond Recife, beyond Pernambuco, beyond ENAU: urban agriculture is for whom? That’s what we’re going to talk about now with Luísa Ferrer – a member of the Carioca Urban Agriculture Network and executive secretary of the National Urban Agriculture Collective (CNAU). We also spoke to André Biazoti – Master in Urban Agriculture, member of the Executive Secretariat of the Agroecologia em Rede (AeR) platform. Member of the Executive Coordination of the National Urban Agriculture Collective (CNAU) and national advisor to CONSEA (National Council for Food and Nutritional Security).
