Last week, Carlos Magno, Sabiá’s Social Mobilization coordinator, took up a seat on the Advisory Board of the National Environmental Education Policy Management Body. The Council is linked to the Ministry of the Environment and Climate Change and the Ministry of Education. The inauguration was attended by Environment Minister Marina Silva and members of the National Environmental Education Policy (PNEA) Steering Group.

Carlos Magno is part of the executive board of the Brazilian Association of NGOs (ABONG), which took possession of the space last Monday (30). On the same day, there was the first meeting of the council, which played a crucial role in articulating debates and suggestions to promote education based on the values of agroecology and respect for the environment.

The Advisory Board of the Management Body of the PNEA is a key body in the promotion of environmental education in Brazil. Made up of experts, representatives of civil society organizations and professionals committed to the cause of sustainability. Thus, the council plays a vital role in articulating debates and formulating suggestions aimed at improving environmental education in the country.

Its central mission is to guide policies and guidelines that promote an approach to education based on the principles of environmental preservation, contributing to the construction of a society that is more aware of and engaged in the preservation of natural resources and the promotion of sustainability.
