Climate crises and access to water | Cantos do Sabiá

João Lucas França – Radio host and communicator for the Sabiá Center.

It’s the month to fight for access to and guarantee of water! In March we celebrate World Water Day (22), and we need to discuss the climate crisis and access to this precious commodity.

Everything has to do with water. Thinking about this resource means reflecting on climate crises that directly impact the availability and quality of water – whether this discussion is global, on a continent, in a country, in a state or city. If we don’t take care, the water dries up. And if the water dries up, plants, animals and crops die.

How can we discuss water and access when only 27% of the low-income rural population in Brazil has access to a public water supply network? How can we discuss access when more than 33 million people do not have access to drinking water in our country?

If you don’t take care, the water will dry up! It is to discuss ways out of the climate crisis that we invite you today to the Cantos do Sabiá, our weekly podcast – the social mobilization coordinator of Centro Sabiá Charlemagne! He holds a master’s degree in agroecology and sustainable rural development, and is executive director of ABONG and focal point of the Semi-Arid Platform in Latin America.

Cantos do Sabiá is the Centro Sabiá’s Podcast! Weekly we discuss agroecology, sustainability and politics in the countryside and in the city! The podcast goes live every Monday, with the complete interview edition that originally made up the Center’s radio program. https://spoti.fi/31VtUj5
