No agroecology without human rights | Cantos do Sabiá

João Lucas França – Broadcaster and communicator for the Sabiá Center.

December 10, Universal Declaration of Human Rights Day, reminds us of the constant struggle for a fairer and more equal world. It’s a date that celebrates years, decades and lives given over to defending rights and building paths for the future

We are talking about fundamental rights, such as access to water, land and food – rights won in the popular struggle, in the name of food sovereignty and social justice.

That’s why without human rights, there is no agroecology! By valuing family farming, respecting traditional knowledge and preserving the environment, agroecology not only produces healthy food, but also combats inequalities and fights for rights.

We invited Tereza Mansi – a lawyer and human rights activist – to talk about this important issue. She is a member of the Brazilian Association of Jurists for Democracy (ABJD) and a lawyer at the People’s Center for Human Rights (CPDH).

Cantos do Sabiá is the Sabiá Center Podcast! Every week we discuss agroecology, sustainability and politics in the countryside and the city! The podcast goes live every Monday, with the complete interview edition that originally made up the Center’s radio program. https://spoti.fi/31VtUj5
