Climate justice and agroecology towards COP 30 | Cantos do Sabiá

João Lucas França – Broadcaster and communicator for the Sabiá Center.

The climate crisis is not a distant issue. It’s already here, running through our daily lives: when water runs out, when rivers dry up, when storms become increasingly violent. But in the face of this scenario of destruction and inequality, agroecology is rising up as a living response – a path of care, resistance and hope.

In the territories of the countryside, forests, waters and cities , farmers, indigenous peoples, quilombolas and traditional communities are showing in practice how it is possible to build fair, climate-resilient food systems.

Ahead of COP30 in Brazil, climate justice needs to echo these voices, make these practices visible and put agroecology at the center of the debate. Because tackling the climate crisis isn’t just about reducing emissions: it’s about guaranteeing rights, autonomy, real food and a future for generations to come.

That’s what we’re going to talk about today with Vânia Carvalho, an educator at the Dema Fund Fund (Amazon Socio-Environmental and Climate Justice Fund).

Cantos do Sabiá is the Sabiá Center Podcast! Every week we discuss agroecology, sustainability and politics in the countryside and the city! The podcast goes live every Monday, with the complete interview edition that originally made up the Center’s radio program. https://spoti.fi/31VtUj5
