Youth on the Move – Cantos do Sabiá

Young people are on the move. Social movements, political movements, and initiatives that are transforming the countryside. A mobilization for rights, for space, for work, and for agroecology.

In the countryside, in cities, in forests, in waterways, and in the Semi-Arid region, it is young people who are practicing agroecology, defending their territories, tackling climate change, and demanding social and environmental justice.

Youth—in the plural—because this struggle is also plural and collective. It takes place at climate conferences, in popular mobilizations, in spaces for social participation, at universities, in communities, and in rural and urban movements.

To discuss this moment—and the power of youth, agroecology, and climate justice—we welcomed Sival Fiuza, a young advocate for agroecology, a member of the Youth Network of the Latin American Semi-Arid Platform, and a participant in key political advocacy initiatives in Brazil and around the world.
